Modern process technologies for the sugar industry.

By

THE USE OF modern equipment and advanced technology in the Indian sugar industry has helped to a considerable extent in reducing the overall cost of production of sugar. It is worthwhile to reduce the conversion cost by the adoption of energy conservation techniques in the Indian sugar industry. This paper describes and discusses modern technologies employed in designing the process house in the 200 t cane/h (tch) expandable up to 300 tch sugar factory at M/s Lokmangal Mauli Industries Ltd., Lohara, Maharashtra state, India. The ultimate aim is to minimise steam and power consumption, and maximise co-generation capacity with the production of good quality sugar. The paper also gives the working results achieved during the performance trial run conducted during the crushing season 2013?2014.
