Damage caused by the passage of tramp iron through cane preparation plant, milling train and mechanical conveyors has always been a source of concern. The provision of an electromagnet in the cane conveyor system preceding the new shredder and milling units at Farleigh Mill was therefore considered essential for their successful operation.
