A MESSAGE FROM THE TOOWOOMBA REGION
The University of Southern Queensland and the Toowoomba region are delighted to support the ASSCT Conference. We warmly welcome you to our delightful city and wish you an enjoyable stay and rewarding conference experience!
Toowoomba is a 90-minute drive from Brisbane and is the gateway to the Darling Downs, Southern Downs and Granite Belt. Although it is Southern Queensland’s largest in-land city, there is still a definite country town atmosphere! Toowoomba is located on the edge of the Great Dividing Range at about 700 m above sea level, and overlooks the picturesque Lockyer Valley. The conference period is ideal for seeing Toowoomba in its autumn colours! If you have some time available it is well worth exploring the city and adjacent areas. You may even want to venture slightly south to Warwick and /or Stanthorpe, or visit some of the attractions to the west and north of the city! As Toowoomba is known to get pleasantly chilly at night and in the early mornings during autumn, you should consider bringing an extra jumper or coat for evening outings!
